A native New Orleanian who learned to ski at age ten in Lake Pontchartrain (after 23 consecutive attempts), Tara loves sharing her passion for our city’s people, culture, customs, architecture and history. Even before earning her New Orleans Tour Guide license, she delighted in planning fun outings for visiting friends and family based on their interests.
She has been actively providing tour guiding services for a variety of tour companies, destination management companies and private groups. She also provides her clients with concierge services because of her extensive knowledge of our fair city.
Before devoting her career full time to hospitality, Tara served as the Director of Marketing & Communications for the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission where she managed marketing strategies for programs, activities and special events in neighborhoods all across the city and worked closely with the City’s Communications Office on press releases and media coverage.
While in Florida, she was Director of Marketing & Programming for the internationally acclaimed historic Tampa Theatre where she created a history & architecture tour program, gave tours, trained volunteer tour docents, and served as spokesperson for media interviews, presentations, and curtain speeches. Tara was most proud of creating the Tampa Theatre Film Camp, a hands-on film-making experience for grades 3 to 12. She also loved engaging with audience members, especially while in costume. Ask her about Mary Poppins and the measuring tape.
Tara excels at speaking before groups large and small. Her love of New Orleans is only matched by her desire to share the wealth of information and stories she has amassed about the Crescent City.
You'll enjoy Tara's warmth, easy-going style and infectious smile.
